VIII-th International Scientific Conference of young scientists, students, master and PhD students “Actual Environmental Problems” (in English)

Today, on November 22, 2018, the VIII-th International Scientific Conference of young scientists, students, master and PhD students “Actual Environmental Problems” in English has started. This year, the 105 people from 6 countries of the near and far abroad have been among the guests of the Conference. The Сonference was organized by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus, the Public Council of the Base Organization on Environmental Education of the CIS countries; International Sakharov Environmental Institute of Belarusian State University and the UNESCO Chair. The sponsorship was provided by Unitary Enterprise “Coca-Cola Beverages Belorussiya”.

The conference began with welcome speech by I.E.Buchenkov, the Deputy Director for Educational Work, A.V.Roshchupkin, the First Deputy Director of Coca-Cola Beverages Belorussia, and N.V.Goncharova, the Head of the UNESCO Chair. During the plenary session, participants presented presentations on use of nuclear energy in a green economy, study of the effect of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide physisorption for cleaning the air, methods of xenobiotics activity regulation. On the following two days within the framework of the sections and round tables socio-ecological, ethical and pedagogical problems in the light of A.D. Sakharov’s ideas, problems in medical ecology, modern environmental safety (biomonitoring, bioindication, biorehabilitation, radioecology and radiation safety, environmental monitoring, management and audit, information systems and technologies in ecology), problems of climate change and sustainable development, as well as problems of renewable energy sources and energy sources saving will be considered.

By the beginning of the Сonference a compilation of abstracts “Actual Environmental Problems” was published.
